A Cistercian abbey founded in 1134 by Saint Bernard, Vauclair was largely destroyed during the 1917 Battle of the Chemin des Dames. The ruins, listed as Historic Monuments, are surrounded by a magnificent garden of medicinal plants featuring 400 species.
